Problems accessing Hotmail and MSN messenger?

I am suddenly having problems accessing the above. I have changed nothing on my computer. Just switched on yesterday to find I cannot use Hotmail through Outlook, and cannot log into MSN Live Messenger. When I try to log into messenger I get this message: "Signing into Windows Live Messenger Failed because the service is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later. Error code: 80040111." When I try to use Outlook, it shows a problem synchronizing headers - reported error (0x80040111).





Any ideas? My husband is not having any problems with messenger and doesn't use Outlook.

I had the same problem a few times last week and when I looked on their service status it said everything was OK . I had to shut down and reboot on all occassions.


I thought it may have been the new wireless router we have recently installed as we are experiencing problems with it maintaining the IP address for the X box but thinking about it logically if it was working OK for accessing all ather internet sites on the PC it could not be selectively blocking or not routing to MSN. I think it must be one of MSN or Hotmails servers at fault.

first we did spybot and adaware then rebooted and we awere able to sign on.

Reply:try to delete all the program related to msn, turn off computer and then download again all related program to msn. then try to access using your personal id.hope these helps
Reply:I got the same problem.... do you have the beta IE7? That might be the problem.
Reply:I have the same problems. I find that if you open your msn messenger first then click on mail it get you there far quicker. Failing that l just keep trying sometimes the service get's overloaded. Persistence is the key. Good luck.
