If you have Yahoo 8 or higher and your friend has MSN Live messenger then you can talk to him/her through yahoo. Other wise, not through the yahoo program, you can with something like trillion which can run all 3 (and more) at once

I would have to agree that the best way to be able to talk to your friends would be to use the program called Trillian. It does not include spyware and it has suited my needs in the past. If you pay a modest fee you can even get voice/video chat capabilities. Anyways this information helps you.
