If I stop using hotmail for email, and Microsoft deletes my account after 120 days, can I still use messenger?

If I stop using hotmail for email, and Microsoft deletes my account after 120 days, can I still use messenger?
As long as you log in within 120 days via messenger your account will remain active because technically you're still using that account for something. Now if you don't log in to messenger OR your actual e-mail inbox for 120 days then yes the account will be deleted.
Reply:i do not think you can still use msn messenger when you have deleted your hootmail account because you will need a vaild email adress to use, also it will delete all of your contacts on hotmail and it will delete them on messenger aswell.
Reply:just stop using the hotmail but dont close the account and you will be able to sign into messenger as long as you want. i have had accounts not using the email for years and it still stays open just using the messenger
Reply:No, you need a valid email to use msn.


I dont know if it still does this, but hotmail usually gives you the chance to get your email account back with the same address. I dont think your contacts will still be there
Reply:Well, actually it wont cancel your account if you are being active within 120 days. So basically if you use messenger often your account will not get disabled because it is acctive.

Reply:As long as you keep your screen name active on messenger, you'll always have the e-mail. If you stop using both e-mail and messenger for over 120 days, then yes, you will lose them both.

Got it once and it stings to loose 300+ contacts
