Ok, so I'm using this IM program called Pidgin which has AIM, yahoo, MSN, and a lot of other messengers into one. Well so I'm trying to sign into the MSN messenger one, and do I have to put MyScreenName@hotmail.com or just MyScreenName into the screenname box
When you're using Pidgin and signing into MSN Messenger.. do you put @hotmail.com?
Actually in Pidgin under the use of MSN you must put the entire address such as youremail@hotmail.com otherwise it will not work. This is due to the fact that Microsoft made the protocol that way. So I hope this answers your question.
Reply:I used Pidgin for a while when AIM stopped working on my computer [random Dell problems!] and I did use @hotmail.com at the end. I think you have to, because people have @msn.com and @hotmail.com addresses, though I'm not sure if you can have the same thing at both.
Anyway, I'm rambling past answering your question. Yes, use @hotmail.com! =]
Reply:the easiest way is to type in google 'MSN messanger free download. Download it and then you'll have no probs, but when i sign in i always type in '(exaple)@hotmail.com
